Market Place

This award-winning 1989 MAVD development blends new construction with thoughtful renovation of an 1850s historic landmark. Designed by Rick Herrmann Associates, the contemporary elements – including punched windows, glass superstructure, and silo-like stairwell – complement the nineteenth-century masonry structure. The four-story Market Place building has an eco-friendly green roof and is served by an adjacent urban geothermal field that provides efficient heating and cooling to the building. This mixed-use retail and office space is in the heart of the Kerrytown District, home to a diverse urban population of students, residents, business-people, lawyers, and venture capitalists.
