Gerard Wald
Maintenance Department Supervisor
Gerard joined MAVD June 2008, bringing nearly 25 years of experience in construction, maintenance, and real estate ventures in the private and municipal sector. He was employed with the State of Michigan Department of Corrections where Gerard honed his skills as a maintenance mechanic in all facets of the commercial building trades. These skills and abilities encompassed carpentry, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, heavy equipment operations, welding and fabricating, as well as Power Plant relief operations while supervising and training facility residents. Since 1990 Gerard is President and Owner of Quality Plus Construction, Inc. specializing in residential development which he has sold over 4 million in real estate ventures. He recently was employed with McKinley Properties as the Lead Commercial Building Engineer where he oversaw the investor’s interest in the operations and renovations of the Towne Centre in Ann Arbor that houses the national tenant Google.
Gerard holds a Contractors License, Commercial Driver’s License, as well as a HVAC/EPA Universal Certification. He serves on the Building Department Board of Appeals for Pittsfield Township. He also has been a long standing member of the Washtenaw County Home Builders Association. His college degree, Vocational Education and many CE courses he continues taking keeps him current in all aspects of Commercial Building Systems and the Construction Industry.
